see relatedWell tomorrow is my first day of student teaching! I'm getting nervous because once again I'm stepping into the unknown and unfamiliar. I'll be fine once I become adjusted to a new routine and new class. Let's hope so anyway. I had orientation this past Thursday and Friday and I'm still in disbelief that this is my last semester of college. I have to teach 180 hours this semester and get another 100 hours of participation/observation. But like Ms. Melder said, it's been done before by many students just like us. I visited the school last week so at least I know where I'm going and stuff. I'll be there Monday-Friday from 7:30-3:00. For 10 days during the semester, I have to teach all day, and five of those days must be consecutive. I also have to teach a unit. I'll discuss all of this tomorrow with my cooperating teacher. I've been looking over the handbook and stuff tonight trying to get my mind organized. So yeah, I'm about to start a new adventure! Ms. Melder said something during orientation that stuck with me: "Nothing ruins a good lesson plan like a class full of students." It struck me as funny because it is so true. You can have something written on paper that looks amazing and then it be disasterous in its execution. I just gotta remember to be flexible and know that I will make mistakes and that's all part of the learning process.
Me and Josh are doing great. He will be moving to Bossier soon and I am very happy and proud of him. He is going to take the Bossier Albertsons by storm because he's awesome like that.
I had serious car trouble this weekend that resulted in my dad driving up here to fix my car. It is no fun having your car die when you are about to pull out onto the road and people are honking at you. It's incredibly frustrating. Other than the car mishap, I spent the weekend resting and cleaning and just enjoying some downtime.
Aunt Laura is doing GREAT and thanks to everyone who has kept her in their prayers.
Oh yeah, Sam tagged me so I gotta list 10 interesting facts about myself. I'll do the best I can:
1. I have been collecting Lucille Ball and I Love Lucy memorabilia for almost 11 years now.
2. I am addicted to the movie, Hairspray, and I listen to the soundtrack on a regular basis.
3. I will be attending my first concert ever on February 29th, and it will be to see Michael Buble.
4. My first car was a 1986 Chevy Celebrity that worked when it felt like it.
5. One day, I WILL own a Mustang.
6. I have a theory that you can drink Diet Coke with any meal and it will cancel out the calories from the meal; thus, you didn't really eat anything.
7. I have spent the night at the house where they filmed Steel Magnolias. I was completely in awe.
8. I've been known to talk in my sleep and hold conversations with people around me.
9. Okay I'm running out of stuff...hmm...I'm wearing fuzzy socks.
10. Umm...my dog Toby likes to eat people.
Alrighty well I need to get some stuff together for tomorrow...ack! I hope that everyone has a great week and God bless!!

see relatedMERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!
For all of my friends and special people in my life, from the bottom of my heart, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas. Remember the true meaning of Christmas, and that it is all about Jesus Christ, the greatest Gift that mankind ever received. Embrace the people you love and reflect upon what really matters this time of year. Have a wonderful holiday and have a blessed new year! I will leave you with some of my all time favorite Christmas quotes and such:
Luke 2:1-14:
In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.""Welcome Christmas, while we stand, heart to heart, and hand in hand." --How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
"Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more!" --How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
"Gee, do they still make wooden Christmas trees?" --A Charlie Brown Christmas
"There's no Christmas in the Army!" --White Christmas
"Christmas is not a time or a season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and good will, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. If we think on these thigns, there will be born in us a Savior and over us will shine a star sending its gleam of hope to the world." --Calvin Coolidge
"Faith is believing in things when common sense tells you not to." --Miracle on 34th Street
"Oh Christmas isn't just a day, it's a frame of mind." --Miracle on 34th Street
"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?" --It's a Wonderful Life
"No man is a failure who has friends." --It's a Wonderful Life
"You'll shoot your eye out!" --A Christmas Story
Bethany: Is your house on fire, Clark?
Clark: No, Aunt Bethany, those are the Christmas lights.
--National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
"Christmas. It's not the giving, it's not the getting, it's the loving. There, I said it. Now get out of here." --A Garfield Christmas Special
"Santa Claus doesn't need any steps. When he comes, he brings the North Pole with him and slides down it like a fireman." --I Love Lucy Christmas Special
Mary, did you know
That your baby boy, is Lord of all creation
Mary, did you know
That your baby boy, will one day rule the nations?
Did you know
That your baby boy, is Heaven's perfect Lamb?
The sleeping child you're holding is the great I Am.
--Mary Did You Know
Why me, I'm just a simple man of trade
Why Him, with all the rulers in the world
Why here, inside the stable filled with hay
Why her, she's just an ordinary girl
Now I'm not one to second guess what angels have to say
But this is such a strange way to save the world
--Strange Way to Save the World
One Solitary Life:
He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman.
He grew up in another obscure village, where He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty.
Then for three years He was an intinerant preacher.
He never had a family or owned a home.
He never set foot inside a big city.
He never travelled two hundred miles from the place He was born.
He never wrote a book, or held an office.
He did none of the things that usually accompany greatness.
While He was still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against Him. His friends desereted him.
He was turned over to his enemies and went through a mockery of a trial.
He was nailed to a cross between two thieves.
While He was dying, His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had--His coat.
When He was dead, He was taken down and laid in a borrowed grave.
Twenty centuries have come and gone, and today He is the central figure for much of the human race.
All the armies that ever marched and all the navies that ever sailed and all the parliaments that ever sat and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon the earth as powerfully as this ONE SOLITARY LIFE.

Hey everybody! I actually have a pretty cool update that I'm happy about and I felt like sharing it. Josh and I have officially began our relationship! Talk about an amazing Christmas present!
He is so great and I could not ask for a better guy. I got to spend the day with him (and his family) yesterday and it was wonderful, as always. I'm really excited and I could not be happier. So I am no longer single and I'm smiling from ear to ear. And I get to see him next week which is three weeks in a row. That is seriously good stuff. I just wanted to post this and I hope that everyone else is doing great. I love y'all!

Well I am done with the semester!! It's such a crazy feeling cause it really feels like no time has passed since Methods began. It has been the most insane, hectic semester but at the same time it has been the most amazing experience that I will never forget. This is the first time that I have truly felt like a real teacher. Leaving my darlings at the Natchitoches Magnet School was really rough. Right before I left, they gave me a basket full of teaching supplies, presents, and a $50 gift certificate to Campus Corner. All of the kids were hugging me and yeah I started crying. I don't think the fact that I cried comes as a shock to anyone. lol I learned so much in Methods and I feel like I have really grown as a teacher...though I still have a long way to go. I feel a lot more prepared to student teach because of Methods. I got my student teaching placement and I will be at Marthaville Elementary/Jr. High. It's a really small school in a really small town and I'm excited about it. I took my last final on Friday and now I'm just waiting on grades to come in; it's a nervewracking experience.
I got to end my semester in a nice way...Josh came over after I took my last final and we got to spend the day together. Spending time with him is always nice, though.
I'm going to see him on Friday so I get to see him two weeks in a row. I'm excited! Things are going great and I'm still walking around with a big goofy grin on my face that Josh put there. He is so awesome.Well I know this is short but my brother needs on the computer so I have to go. I hope that everyone has a great day! God bless! xoxo

It's been a while since I've done this! lol I've been extremely busy lately and life has thrown some interesting surprises at me. For starters, only 2 weeks of Methods left and the end can't come soon enough! I am so dang tired! But I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I'm almost there. It's end of semester stress. I can't believe that next week will be my last week in the Magnet School with my students. I'm going to miss them so much! They are just the sweetest things and I had really enjoyed being in that class this semester. It's going to be hard to say goodbye. Teaching is so wonderful!
Please keep Aunt Laura in your prayers. They sent her home and we're just taking things one day at a time. She is a special lady and I love her with all my heart. God knows what He's doing though.
But on a MUCH happier note, I have been talking to Mr. Joshua Bonnette for a few weeks now and I am so happy. He is so awesome and I seriously enjoy talking to him. We got to spend a day together last week and I loved every minute of it. So life has thrown me a very unexpected surprise but I could not be happier with it. I think the best things happen when you least expect them to. I am a very lucky girl!
Well that's all for now cause I need to go do some homework. I just thought I should let the online community know that I'm still alive. God bless! xoxo
